Doubled Haploids via Microspore Embryogenesis in Tobacco

Tobacco is a model species to study factors, important for microspore embryogenesis, including media components, culture conditions and genetic factors. One of the MicroCrop founder Prof. Touraev published many highly cited scientific papers on various aspects of microspore embryogenesis and doubled haploidy using model species. At present tobacco microspore embryogenesis could be a model to study chromosome doubling of obtained haploids and as a system for gene targeting. MicroCrop is ready for collaborative, fundamental and applied research in these and other areas of tobacco microspore embryogenesis applications.
